Homeowner data/demograhics

Question:

I need to know the total # of homeowners between the ages of
approximately 25-35 in EITHER; (All urban and suburban areas
nationally) OR (All major national metropolitan areas listed at this
link; http://www.bls.gov/opub/cwc/tables/cm20030423ar01t1.htm. Data can come from the Year 2000 national census or later. An exact answer is probably impossible so I am more concerned with the methodology of findings. Must be able to provide proof of calculation method and links to all data sources. This is referring to the United States only.

I found a way to query the census database for all US Metropolitan
Statistical areas and got the information.
I will explain you step by step how I built the custom query and got
the results below.
Go to http://factfinder.census.gov/home/saff/main.html?_lang=en
On the left navbar select Data Sets -> Decennial Census
This time select "Census 2000 Summary File 2 (SF 2)
100-Percent Data" and click on "custom tables".
For "Geographic Type" I selected "Metropolitan Statistical Area ...."
and below I selected "All Metropolitan Statistical Areas"
For "Data Element" select "Tenure by age of householder" and below
"Owner Occupied" and "Householder 25 to 34"
Population group is "Total population" and you get the following table
